DCGOP ENDORSES HOME RULE AND CANDIDATE SLATE

Douglas County Republicans have endorsed the Douglas County Commissioners' Home Rule initiative and a Home Rule Charter Commissioner candidate slate.  A special election will be held on June 24 that will ask Douglas County voters 1) whether to form a Charter Commission and 2) to select 21 Charter Commission Members.

HOME RULE SPECIAL ELECTION BALLOTS ARRIVING SOON

Douglas County Elections will be mailing out Home Rule June 24 Special Election Ballots the week of June 2, so be watching for yours. Click here for information about the Home Rule Special Election.  

The Home Rule decision will be decided by voters in two elections:  The first will be a special election on June 24 where voters will be asked two questions - 1) whether to form a home rule charter commission and 2) to select charter commission members, who will be drafting a new Home Rule Charter for Douglas County.  The second election will be held on November 4 where voters will decide if they accept the proposed Home Rule Charter created by the charter commissioners.  Read the Douglas County Commissioners’ home rule information here.  Click here to read the Colorado Revised Statute for Colorado Home Rule County government.
