CHECK YOUR REPUBLICAN AFFILIATION


In order to participate in the Republican Caucus on March 16th, 2010, you must be a registered Republican no later than Tuesday, January 19th, 2010.


Follow these steps to make sure you are a registered Republican.


1. VERIFY REPUBLICAN AFFILIATION. You may check your party affiliation with the Colorado Secretary of State by clicking here. Fill in the request information and the Secretary of State's website will confirm you are registered to vote and indicate your party affiliation.

Make sure "Party Affiliation" reads "Republican." If it does, and it indicates you were affiliated on or before January 19th, 2010, you're ready to participate in the Republican caucus.


2. REGISTER TO VOTE OR CHANGE PARTY AFFILIATION. If the Secretary of State's website doesn't show that you're registered to vote, or if it shows your party affiliation is not Republican, you must register to vote and indicate your desire to affiliate with the Republican party if you'd like to participate in the Republican caucus in March.

To register to vote or change your party affiliation to Republican, fill out this form and send it to the Douglas County Clerk, P.O. Box 1360, Castle Rock, CO 80104-1360.

This form must reach the Clerk's office by January 19th. If you have any question whether it will get there in time by mail, you should go to the Elections Office at 301 Wilcox Street, Second Floor, Castle Rock, CO 80104 (303-660-7444) and register to vote in person.

The Douglas County Republican Party cannot register you as a Republican. You must register as a Republican with the Douglas County Clerk's Election Office, and you must do it by January 19th, 2010.


3. LEARN ABOUT CAUCUS. If you aren't familiar with the Caucus process, you may learn about it here. Caucus may seem complicated at first, but it's really quite simple. It's all about electing two precinct committee people and two or more delegates to the County Assembly. This is how the whole election process begins in Colorado.


4. ATTEND CAUCUS. The Republican Caucus will be held on March 16th, 2010 at 7pm, usually in a nearby school. To find out where your precinct will meet for caucus, click here and enter your address into the form. The website will tell you where your caucus will be held. Then, just remember to attend your caucus on March 16th, 2010 at 7pm!
